Core rod material must be non-magnetic, preferably any 300 series (18-8) stainless steel. Other suitable rod materials include titanium, fiberglass, unplated plastics, and carbon-fiber composites. Avoid highly conductive materials like aluminum or brass, because eddy currents induced in them could affect LVDT performance. Thread 18-8 stainless steel socket set screw (SS) into tapped hole "TT" with Loctite, then thread set screw thread projecting from core rod assembly into LVDT core. All dimensions in inches; external threads are class 2A; internal threads are class 2B. Connection / adjustment length "LL" is selected to suit the LVDT installation. Minimum unthreaded rod length "L" is derived from the formula below: L=N+R-C/2 Where: "N" is the
