Pennsauken, NJ, January 1st, 2002.... Macro Sensors, a division of Howard A. Schaevitz Technologies, Inc. today announced the release of theirnew LVDT HLR 750 series of 3/4 inch (19 mm) diameter hermetically sealed AC-LVDTs that are UL approved for operation in Class I, Division 2 and Class I, Zone 2 hazardous locations. Applications include vane pitch measurement, fuel valve position feedback, or governor controls in natural gas-powered compressors and power generating turbines. This LVDT product line, available in stock full scale measurement ranges of ±1.00, ±2.00, ±3.00, ±4.00, ±5.00, ±6.00, ±7.50, and ±10.00 inches, offers these benefits: HLR
750 LVDTs are UL and ULC listed for operation in Class I, Division
2, Groups A,B,C, and D, and Class I, Zone 2, Group IIC hazardous locations
(NEC 500 & 505). Macro Sensors can supply support electronics for the HLR 750 series LVDTs with outputs of either analog voltage or 4-to 20 mA current loop that a user may install in an explosion-proof enclosure and connect to the LVDT's lead wires running in a suitable hazloc conduit. In addition to their use with gas turbines, HLR 750 series LVDTs are ideal for most position measurements in pulp and paper mills, plastics plants, gas transmission pumping stations, auxiliary power generators, petrochemical process plants, LNG refueling depots, and many applications on off-shore drilling platforms.
